Sends SMS through the Clickatell REST API.
Get the credentials
- Sign in to your Clickatell portal and create (or open) an SMS integration of the REST API type.
- Note the integration’s API key.
- If your account uses a registered sender, note the approved from number or sender ID.
Configure EvTrack
On Configuration > Server Settings > SMS:
- Set Gateway Type to Clickatell REST API.
- Put the REST API key in API Key. (API ID is only needed for legacy Clickatell integrations that use a separate numeric ID - leave it empty for a standard REST API integration.)
- Set From Number to your approved sender number or ID, if your account requires one.
- Leave Email Domain (SMS-via-Email) empty - it belongs to the Email to SMS gateway.
- Save, then use Send Test SMS with your own number. You should receive the message and see a success response next to the button.
Notes
- Clickatell accounts are typically enabled per destination country - if tests to some countries fail, check the integration’s coverage settings in the portal.
- Message length behaviour (parts, character set) is governed by EvTrack’s Instant Messaging settings.
