Delivers SMS by emailing your provider’s email-to-SMS gateway - the message to +27831234567 is sent as an email to 27831234567@your-gateway-domain, and the provider forwards it as a text.
Prerequisites
- A working email server - test it first; every SMS becomes an email.
- An email-to-SMS provider account, and the gateway domain they give you.
- The provider must accept mail from your configured from address - most require you to register it.
Configure EvTrack
On Configuration > Server Settings > SMS:
- Set Gateway Type to Email to SMS Gateway.
- Set Email Domain (SMS-via-Email) to the provider’s gateway domain.
- The API ID, API Key and From Number fields are not used by this gateway - leave them empty.
- Save, then use Send Test SMS with your own number. The message arrives via the provider; expect slightly more delay than a direct API gateway.
Notes
- Delivery problems can live on either leg: check the email server’s test-send first, then the provider’s inbound log.
