There are three ways a visitor gets into EvTrack. Pick by who knows the visitor’s details and when.
When you need this
You are about to invite someone, or set up how your site receives visitors, and want the route that asks the least of everyone.
| You enter the details | The visitor registers | The visitor walks in | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who types the details | You, the host | The visitor, from a link | The visitor, at the kiosk |
| When | Before the visit | Before the visit | On arrival |
| The visitor proves their email | No | Yes, with a code (email by default, SMS where set up) | Only where the kiosk asks for a code (off by default) |
| The visitor agrees to terms | No | Yes, on the form | The kiosk shows a privacy consent; agreements can be added |
| Best for | Known and returning visitors | First visits, groups, partners | Unexpected arrivals |
| Switched on by default | Yes | No: an administrator switches it on | Yes |
Who approves
A host’s invite is issued at once. A self-registration waits in the Registration list until someone approves it. A location with Require Manager Approval switched on sends both to its managers first. A walk-in waits for the host only where Require Host Approval for Self/Walk-in Check-in is on. See Approval Workflow.
